Does Nikwax work on boots?
Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof is easy and quick to apply, just spray on to wet boots and it will leave a flexible water repellent treatment on the individual fibres of the fabric and leather. Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof provides highly Durable Water Repellency (DWR) which develops on air drying.
Can you use Nikwax on neoprene?
Nikwax Tech is easy to apply. You can even use it in a washing machine! Important Note: Do not machine dry garments with neoprene or latex gaskets or socks. Also, machine washing can damage dry wear zippers.
Can you waterproof anything with Nikwax?
You can only use Nikwax on waterproof jackets – FALSE Products are tailored to specific fabrics, so those aimed at baselayers, for example, don’t add water repellency, though they will help maintain the original characteristics of the fabrics used.
How often should you reproof walking boots?
It’s usually not necessary to reproof after every single use but we recommend reproofing every couple of wears to prevent any damage or serious wear-and-tear from deteriorating their condition. It’s better to carry out reproofing more than required than let your boots go downhill and beyond repair.
What do you use tech wash for?

Can I use Nikwax on nylon?
Answer: This product is designed to work on soft shell jackets (like a stretchable polyester material) however it may still work on nylon. I would suggest checking out the regular NikWax TX Direct Spray-on which is designed for materials that are more like your nylon jacket.
Is nikwax bad for leather?
No. The mineral wax in Nikwax Waterproof, derived from petroleum, doesn’t soak too deeply into leather (unlike greases such as mink oil, which should never be used on modern leather boots because they soften the leather). In fact, it pretty much sits on the surface and will wear off moderately quickly.
