You could park at Durdle Door car park and do this walk in reverse, but we recommend you start at Lulworth Cove where the facilities are better. If you want to grab something for lunch, have a sneaky ice cream or a cheeky pint before you start the walk, you have options.

It is thought that Victorian collectors may have removed the trees for decorative purposes, but no-one is really sure! Beware there are 97 steep steps down …. and back up! If you’re feeling energetic, head west from Lulworth car park and follow the natural footpath (stout footwear needed) to the iconic Durdle Door.

Tyneham and the Lulworth Range Walks are open most weekends and all main public holidays. They are open to the public each weekend except for the following weekends: 19 and 20 February 2022– CLOSED.
Can you visit tyneham?
Tyneham village gate permits vehicle access. It is opened at 9am when no military activity is taking place and is closed at dusk each evening. The exhibitions in Tyneham School and Tyneham Church are open from 10am until 4pm on non-firing days.
